We depart Cusco early in the morning in a private bus toward Mollepata, where we will arrive for breakfast.  This day we will have a beautiful and scenic trip with panoramic views of impressive snow capped mountains such as the Majestic Salkantay mountian and the great valley of the Apurimac River.  At Mollepata we will meet our crew of porters and have our final organize of our equipment and mules to begin our trek.  We will trek by Andean and traditional community villages such as Cruz Pata and Sayllacancha, where we will stop for lunch and after a small rest we will continue our trek toward Soraypampa.  We will have our dinner and spend our first night at the Soraypampa campsite.

After a good early breakfast we will start the most difficult part of the trek toward Salkantaypampas.  We will trek on the mountain side of Umantany which is located next to Salkantay mountain.  Around midday we will arrive at the highest point of the trek between the two mountains Salkantay and Umantay.  We can appreciate the spectacular views of the mountains and the imposing snow cap of Salkantay, which is known as the second highest point in the Cusco region. There we can also appreciate the view of Humantay mountain.  After an hour of rest we will have lunch in an area called Huayracpampa.  After we continue our trek for toward Challway.  We will have dinner and spend the night at the Challway campsite.

Following breakfast we continue our trek toward Collpabamba known for the Cloudy Brow Forest.  The Forest has wonderful waterfalls, fruit-bearing trees, varied flora, coca, and regional birds.  With some luck we will be able to observe the famous bird named Cock of the Rocks.  Continuing the trek we will arrive at Sahuayaco La Playa.  Arriving we will stop for lunch, admire the scenery, variety of orchids to explore, and have free time to stretch your legs, and rest.  We will have dinner and spend the night at the Sahuayaco La Playa campsite. 

After breakfast we begin our trek to Llactapata an archeological site.  On the trek we will observe coffee plantations, beautiful landscapes as well as diverse flora. Arriving at Llcatapata we will stop at the Abra.  We will observe some Inca ruins, also from there we will have a view of the surrounding mountains where Machu Picchu is located.  After we will descent toward Central Hidroelectrica Machu Picchu plant.  There we will stop for lunch and rest. At the last part of the trek we will head toward Aguas Calientes.  There we will have dinner and accommodation in a hostal.  We will also have the option to enjoy the thermal waters and explore the town.

Machu Picchu! After a very early breakfast, we will take the first bus towards Machu Picchu. There you will enjoy a guided tour of the incredible Lost City of the Incas and Inca history.  The tour allows us to appreciate the achievements of the Inca civilization and demonstrates the Inca's supreme understanding of astronomy and architectural design.  After you will have the rest of the time freely to discover Machu Picchu for yourselves.  Take memorial pictures, visit the Temple of the Condor, Temple of Three Windows, Principal Temple, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Moon, or take the optional(limited permits) ascent towards Huayna Picchu Mountain the top of Machu Picchu.  After we will meet to catch the bus back to Aguas Calientes and prepare to board the train back to Ollantaytambo.  From there we will take private transport and travel back up the Sacred Valley to Cusco.
